Chinese Qianlong ? Porcelain Bowl & Stand With Rooster and Boy in Garden Measurements: 5 5/8” Wide 3” Tall, not including stand Condition: Excellent No worn areas, chips, cracks or repairs Description: This beautiful bowl was left wrapped in a trunk after it was brought back from China over 65 years ago. Eggshell thin, the hand painted scene on the front depicts a young Chinese boy in a beautiful garden with peony’s and fine open work stones. He is teasing a very large rooster. The back side of this bowl has a very long poem written in finely painted black Chinese characters. There is a hen with a total of 5 chicks below the poem. A beautiful stand accompanies this piece. of special note i am not an expert on chinese items and here are 2 messages i have just received over night 29 mar.2011. message #1 you do know this is typical of wares made in the 19th c. honoring the earlier period worth every penny of $100.00 then onto the next message #2 i very much like this bowl & would offer $.400.00 for it buy it now if you sell to me directly. i'm no expert and am not trying to guarantee anything other than this Chinese bowl is hand painted and in great condition YOU BE THE JUDGE! & -thanks.
