Up for auction is this beautifully designed and colorfulCharlie Chan one-sheet poster from the first Roland Winters film of the Monogramseries. As did most of these later posters, it successfully blended artwork and design with photo-art images. In my opinion, this is the nicest by far of the later Chan posters in terms of design and visual impact (generally Charlie is not so prominently featured on the posters as he is here). With this poster, as was usually the case, the studios went the extra mile to promote their new detective star Roland Winters in his debut film. The film is also better than average (again co-starring the excellent Mantan Mooreland) and was successful enough to keep the series going strong for several more films before Charlie vanished into history. CONDITION: The poster is for the most part in very good to excellent condition and very professionally mounted on linen. For the first time, I think, I have to point out that my photography is not so great in that there is a glare affecting the top right of the poster that is not on the poster. There is the usual touch-up where the poster has been folded and there is one small area in the lower left fold area where some minor painting was required for a small tear in the image of the co-starring detective.
