A Chinese porcelain bowl made in the Song Dynasty. It is glazed similar to Ge-Yao porcelain having a crackled straw color glaze. The interior has a molded flower and leaves. The foot ring is completely glazed and it was fired upside down. It has a metal band around the unglazed lip. The last picture shows a close-up of the metal band and a portion of the unglazed dark brown paste. It has a gold lacquer repair to the foot ring and was probably in a Japanese collection at one time. Other than the lacquer repair it is in excellent condition. It measures 8" in diameter.
