Victorian era indoor bench. Covered with Chinese style carvings. The top of the bench is made up of two dragons facing each other, both with scales delicately carved into the dragon's bodies. The back of the bench w your back rests when sitting is covered with scroll work and lion heads. The bottom of the bench w your legs rest against is covered also with one lion head and scroll work. The arm rests of the bench are dragon heads also. Bench seat does open to wtorage space. The storage space does not have a bottom or back inside, but one can easily be made from some 1/4 plywood. One dragon on top is missing his head, (not entirely noticeable immediately). Also, bench is in need of some tightening up of some joints, however it is in good shape as it sits. I have see only one in similar nature, and it was only on the internet. Beautiful patina, I don't believe it has ever been stripped and "refinished", nor does it need it. Item does show basic wear for an item of it's age. Seller does reserve right to cancel auction at any time, as it is also listed locally. Buyer responsible for all shipping rcosts and responsibilities. Sepper will accomodate pickup times for shipping etc. Item is aproximately 48" wide, and at the highest peak in the back, it also stands aproximately 48". Pickup recommended, costs are calculated for ground shipping.
