All ivory items, regardless of the animal of origin and regardless of age, are subject to CITES Convention regulations. We can ship marine ivory such as walrus, with an export permit. Any Schedule A items, such as elephant or whale ivory, require both an export permit and an import permit. We will obtain the export permit; you, the buyer, must obtain the import permit. Obtaining a permit is a complicated process, takes many months and does not always end in success. In other words, we may not be able to ship the item if the customs agents disallow this. If this happens, we will return your payment to you.
