STUNNING COMPLETE SIX PIECE CHIPPENDALE STYLED BRACKET BASED 1930'S CUSTOM MADE MAPLE BEDROOM SET PRICE REDUCED FOR CLEARANCE! With our compliments we are offering one of the finest custom made maple bedroom sets that we have ever had the pleasure of handling. This set was acquired in the liquidation of a fine Newton , Massachusetts estate. Every furnishing in this home was the absolute best money could buy. When we removed this set it went straight into our work shop. Refinishing this set was extremely difficult! Let us say that despite the quality (and substantial original cost of this fantastic set) it saw a little less than the treatment it deserved. But, being made of the absolute hardest wood American furniture was ever made from; it's back and more gorgeous than ever! First off, we disliked that nutmeg or mustard colored finish that they commonly applied to high quality maple furniture. Why smoother such beautiful wood? We strongly suspect this set was made by a Vermont custom furniture maker whose work we have seen before, but the tags were removed from the cases' backs. It takes the strongest stripping agents available to even dent the original finish. After that process comes gallons of de-natured alcohol washing with various grades of steel wool scrubbing simply so the wood can be properly prepped for sanding. Sanding maple is a time consuming and arduous affair. Only a true passion for the beauty of wood drives furniture fanatics (like us) to take on a restoration like this one. The final result is breathtaking and worth the investment in time. This set was made from the best cuts of maple with both tiger and Bird's eye maple stock being present in the wood. The stock this set was crafted from was all "clear stock" (the best cuts available of age cured and stable wood) and now its luster just leaps right out at you. We stained the set in a tasteful light golden honey color. It has been given three exhausting hand rubbed coats of a high gloss sealant. All 22 pieces of the fine hand cut Chippendale motif hardware has been removed and hand polished to its original state. Never mind wood like this-you can't find this hardware anyw! This hardware alone exceeds $750.00 in value! We highly recommend custom maple bedroom sets to our fine furnishings customers with children growing out of their juvenile furniture. Our customers tend to be educated consumers who buy from us based purely out of the fact of maximum value for minimum cost. This set is indestructible, as was proven in the case at hand, and can handle whatever your kids (or guests) can manage to throw at them. We only had to refinish this set and it didn't even require a drop of glue to tighten up any part of it. This set remains as solid as the day it was made. This set consists of a 2 over 4 tall chest that is 46 ½" tall, 33" wide and 20" deep. The dresser is a 2 over 3 affair with one of the top drawers appearing to be a small divided drawer but, is really 2/3 sized and is 35" tall, 42" wide and 20 ¼" deep. The nightstand is a 3 drawer case that is 26" tall, 16 ½" wide and 14" deep. All of the case pieces are finished with finely profiled drawer faces with a fine ¼" bevel, carved columns on each side of pieces, finely detailed bottom case moldings all on absolutely gorgeous curved four corner bracket footed bases. This set has one pair of equally impressive twin sized beds each detailed with stately carved pineapple posts that stand 40" tall. The footboards are finished with a super 2" thick curved blanket rail that rolls over the footboard. The beds are 41 ½" wide and come with bedding clips that completely obviates the need for those bed slats that are always falling down. Lastly, this set has an impressive "broken arch" and finial mounted Chippendale mirror. The mirror is a super quality piece easily worth $400.00 alone.
