CHIPPENDALE TILT-TOP TEA TABLE.American, 18th century, walnut with old finish. Tripod base with well-shaped cabriole legs and trifid feet, bulbous turned column, birdcage with turned posts, and two-board dish turned top with fiddle back figure. Imperfections. 28 1/2"h. 37 3/4"d.Condition: Top has age splits, 4" at crotch figure near center that goes through wood and a 3" split at rim. Battens reset, latch moved. Surface wear on feet, one more than others.
