Choisy Le Roi Majolica Swan Plate. Early 1900's. The Choisy-le-Roi faience factory of Choisy-le -Roi, France produce majolica from 1860-1910. The firm's ware was not always marked. The common mark is usually a black ink stamp "Choisy-Le-Roi with a large B. See pictures of the two traditional marks. The HB stands for Hippolyte Boulenger a director of the pottery. The factory's work was some of the most delicate produced in France. Plate is of a swan with cattails and lily pads. Plate is around 9" . In good condition with some crazing and a spider crack on the back but does not go through the front of the plate ( See picture)
