This is a an incredibly scarce 1957 Indianapolis Clowns contract for and signed by Clarence "Choo Choo" Coleman. Contract dated March 1957, when Coleman was a mere 19 years old.The contract states that Coleman will be paid $150 a month from May 16 1957 through September 3 1957.Coleman signed his name in blue ink. Clowns owner Syd Pollock signed it in black ink. Coleman's parents also signed the contract as witnesses. The contract has some minor wrinkles and t No rips.Negro League contracts are almost impossible to find, regardless of the era. This contract was one of the "name" player contracts to have originated from Pollock's estate. Coleman is best remembered as a 1962 Met and a downright difficult living signer.
