This is a fabulous 1984 piece of art glass by master crafter, Chris Heilman. Signed and dated. Maybe the best thing about art is interpretation and since I am maaaaaddd about all things b rutalist, this piece just speaks to me. Standing 5" tall and about 4" in width this piece of art glass weighs over 4 pounds. Clear glass surrounds a convoluted , opague glass in shades of gray, purple and blue. Heilman has done many recent pieces of art glass with a n underwater theme, and I am wondering if this doesn't represent an iceber g below the surface. If yo u are familiar with the razor sharp edges of obsidian (r ock), that might best descri be the affect of this piece. In any case, absolutely brilliant! There is a 1.5" deep hole in the top of the piece that might tempt a person to interpret this piece as a vas e, but it could hardly be used for that purpose; first and fore most this is a piece of sculpted ar t. Cond ition is very good to excellent. I am listing this piece for 10 days to give you a chance to think about where you will put it.........This piece will arrive at your home double boxed and insured.
