The following five photos were taken in different lighting conditions ranging from daylight to controlled studio lighting to show you the stunning permanent hamon created by clay tempering. Please note that clay tempering produces a hamon unique as a fingerprint, and hamon will be different on each sword. You Are Bidding On A Brand New CHRIS ZHOU HAND MADE FORGED SAKURA KATANA IADO SWORD Plus Free Stand, Cleaning Kit, And Sword Bag These swords were designed by Sam Sung and made at the world famous Chris Zhou forge in very limited quantities. The blade is traditionally hand forged and differentially clay tempered 1090 high carbon spring steel with tsukurikomi process. Excellent cutter intended to be used for rigorous every day tameshigiri cutting exercises. See specs below. The blade can be bent 30 degrees (as shown on the photo above), and will return to original shape. The sword can be disassembled for cleaning, and cleaning kit is included, but since the sword is made to much higher standards than cheaper hand forged swords (blade fits *very* snug inside the handle), I would highly recommend taking this sword to a sword shop and letting a professional disassemble it rather than doing it at home.
