International bidders welcome!!!! Hello, you are bidding on a beautiful and rare Whitefriars Christmas paperweight from my personal Whitefriars collection. It is the Whitefriars 1976 Three Wise Men and Star of Bethlehem paperweight designed by Baxter, and is wonderful in its detail and coloration. It is from a limited edition, number 83/1000, and will come with its round Whitefriars box and certificate card of authenticity. Both the card and box are in worn condition and came that way when I purchased the paperweight. The Three Wise Men Paperweight is often included in retrospectives and informational writings about the Whitefriars weights, and is part of a short series of limited holiday paperweights produced from 1975 to 1979. The three kings are quite carefully designed. It has been said that in some of these weights they are not well proportioned, but these are quite fine. Measurements are app. 3 and 1/4 inches in diameter and 2 inches in height. In my research, most sites list this paperweight at 365 UK pounds sterling, (app. $730.00 USD) but my reserve price is much lower than that. Recently on ebay, a similar weight but with less distinctive wise men canes sold for $525.00 Item number: 190135495626. Shipping is $12.00 UPS ground with insurance for buyers within the United States but US priority shipping is preferred and might cost more. Please check the USPS web site for an updated and actual shipping charge as rates have changed since May 14. Buyers from outside will need to have their rates calculated at auction's end.
