French Art Deco - Machine Age Cocktail Shaker by Christofle - Gallia Beautiful heavy silver-plate cocktail shaker by the famous French metalwork and design firm, Christofle, circa 1930s - 1940s. This piece is fully signed on the bottom, as follows: GALLIA T is also a hallmark with a rooster and several numeric hallmarks (see photos). This shaker measures 10.25" tall with the lid and cap in place. This shaker has an elegant Machine Age - Art Deco form and is beautifully constructed with thick and heavy metal. Christofle silver-plated items are always of the highest quality in both construction and design, and this shaker is no exception. Their elegant "Gallia" line is sought after and was used in many famous hotels, expensive homes, trains, and ocean liners during the early to mid twentieth century. This shaker is in excellent condition as shown in the photographs. It does not have any dents. It has light wear to the surfaces but the plating is completely intact and t don't appear to be any areas w the plating is worn through, or w the under-metal shows through the plating. T are two small fissures to the top cap, which look like they may be manufacturing flaws, however these are both thin and tight and do not allow any liquid through them and are only noticeable upon close inspection. The inside of the shaker does not have corrosion or damage and the piece will be fine to use. All the pieces fit tightly in place and will not leak.
