Christofle commandsrespect worldwide for its luxury table service products, including the company's traditional silverware lines and extending to include nearly all items found on and around the well-to-do dining table.
This service had been with my Uncle Bill and Auntie Vee since the early 70's. They lived in Brisbane and it came in an old Prouds Jewellers red cardboard Christofle container - long gone. The green wooden felt cabinet/box is in pretty good shape. No rips or tears, though some marks. The set has hardly been used, if used, but polished regularly when displayed. I am now selling this on behalf of the family and know next to nothing about the set other than the plagiarized first sentence. The Christofle hallmarks are evident on all pieces, I have tried to photograph them but am unable to capture a real close up. Aunti Vee says "Just show the curly bits on the end and the right people will know what it is!" She calls this service La Croix. Uncle Bill died in the 80's but he had owned it for a long time. A jeweller himself, the service was part of a trade for some diamonds. I have been asked to set a very reasonable reserve on this service, as similar 'new' Christofle products of comparable quality sell for silly money. I will add more pictures of the 'curly' bits and answer any questions I can, but, like I said I know very little. If Auntie Vee was a bit younger you could ask her but thats a little difficult now! International buyers please contact me for cost of shipment please. I have been contacted by a member of the family in Australia who confirms these are 'Rubans'. All cutlery stamped, all a set. The knives are appproximately 25 cm for the 6 large dinner knives and 19.5 cm for the 6 smaller ones. See photos
