This is a Cat 77D Off Highway Truck. Commemorative collectible Die-Cast scale model replica . (1:50 scale) It is a beautiful Chrome version. Caterpillar introduced its first off-highway truck, the 769 in 1962, and it quickly set the standard for the industry. In the early 70's the company began producing larger trucks and in 1986 introduced the first of the mining trucks. In late 2004 Caterpillar produced truck number 40,000, a 777D. Caterpillar construction and mining trucks including the 797, the largest mechanical drive truck in the world, are built at the Mining & Construction Equipment Division of Caterpillar Inc. in Decatur Illinois. Some of the features on the chrome version are: truck bed raises and lowers, wheels that roll, tires with authentic tread design, grab bars, ladders and authentic trim detail, clear windows with interior cab detail. It is put out by Norscot. This item is brand new in the box and never removed from the Styrofoam. It was only opened for these pictures and has been in storage away from light to fade the box.
