For Auction: A near complete set of A CHRONCILE OF ANCIENT SUNLIGHT, by Henry Williamson, published between 1951 and 1969 by Macdonald, missing only 1 volume- ( A test To Destruction- 1960) This is a very well preserved set- it contains eleven 1st editions. How Dear Is Life is a 2nd impression, as is The Dark Lantern, The Golden Virgin is a 3rd impression. Every dustjacket is in good, well preserved condition, unclipped, with only slight chipping to the top of the spines. The Fox Under My Cloak has a 2 inch tear to the top of the spine, and one other, The Phoenix Generation has a small 1 cm tear to top of spine of jacket. The jacket covers are all bright and clean. Only one book has a name inscribed in it. All the book have clean texts, no foxing, no spine leans. Following the semi autobiographical story of Phillip Maddison, the ' Chronicle' was Williamson's greatest achievement, covering the lives of his parents and the life of Phillip Maddison up until the late 1950's, it also works a chronicle of the first half the of the 20th century.
