Acclaimed as one of rock & roll's most influential artists. Muddy Waters introduced Chuck Berry to Leonard Chess(Chess Records) in Chicago. First recording, Maybelline , was an instant success. Appeared in the movie Rock, Rock, Rock in 1956 and several others. Incarcerated for violating the Mann Act (1962-63) and income tax invasion (1979). Won Grammy's Lifetime Achievment Award in 1984.
