This has International appeal,allowing you to wear this ANY WHERE in the world,simply because of the beauty of the plain silver..These have so much class that if Neiman's carried Native Jewelry,this would have the elegance you would see there! It has both light & dark sterling which allows you to wear this with your contemporary pieces as well as vintage!!! These are a nice bold millimeter with varied sizes that break up the uniformity,combining sterling beads that range from 16mm,10mm,8mm,with 7.5 mm fluted beads, as well 11.5 mm saucer shaped beads in between...Hanging in wearable length from 20,21,22 in..(20 being the shortest,22 being the longest.) For those of you who are not familiar with "Navajo Pearls",they are a pre-oxidized hand made sterling silver bead(s),giving the look as if aged..They have a very "Old Pawn" look to them... There are MANY made these days since they are so very "IN",not only here in Santa Fe,but throughout the SW/Texas,etc..I am very selective about what I want to see in the 'pearl" & these that I am in high recommendation of,are made by Navajo"Marilyn Platero"..What she eliminates that others you will find leave remaining,is the 'seam' where the 2 halfs join,which give her beads a much more polished,high class look finish to them,since she smooths the seam out by hand! Others have the seam,which makes them look very 'un-finished"..These in my opinion are the BEST your going to get!! These are 'bench" beads,completely done by hand,where they start with a 1/2 bead that is half rounded,then soldered to the other half..Left heavily oxidized,seam hand smoothed,then buffed to get the beauty of the high shined silver that against the dark,makes these look more than phenomenally gorgeous!!
