CIA, Central Intelligence Agency AIR AMERICA Full Set - 1959 Aerial Photo's Extremely Rare Set - 10 Aerial Photos CIA - Air America 1959 Photo's by WANDA II Original, Vietnam War: Air America - Central Intelligence Agency Spectacular set - This set of Aerial Photographs were taken from an Air America aircraft flying in the area of Ban Me Thuot and Dalat (Central Highlands) province in February 1958 more than 3 years before the Vietnam War started during the later days of the occupation of South Vietnam by the French Forces. It was also some 6 years before the offical entry of US Soldiers into Vietnam. Prior to 1964 the only US Soldiers (offically in Vietnam) were US Special Forces operatives rotating out of Japan, all other operatives were CIA Controlled, no USAF presence in Vietnam at this time. Note: This is a full role of 10 consecutive and adjoining photo's. I have been advised that the photo's were in an affort for the CIA to identify areas more secure for bases than Dien Bien Phu, the French Military Base decimated in 1954 by the Viet Minh. The first photo has location markers, 12.37 North and 107.90 East and I have noted this on a separate piece as being located close to Ban Me Thuot, North west of Dalat, close to the Cambodian Border.
