This week we are offering three old vintage cigar boxes filled with most of the old items all from the same New York estate. These cigar boxes have contents ranging from old advertising bottles, old advertising pottery, vintage fishing law books from the 30's, an Stanley measuring tool from the Civil War, a rare New York windup pocket watch, old clay pipes, old lock and key, old coins and buttons and other unique items. THIS IS BOX NUMBER 1 OF THE 3 DESCRIBED. 1. A very old blue and white stoneware miniature Prosit stein with a gnome on the front. 2 3/8" tall in excellent condition. Heavy decoration all around, with strong detail and texture. No chips or cracks or hairlines or crazing. #824 embossed on on side. Possibly early Germany. 2. An old Prosit stein made to advertise the RATHSKELLER UNDER THE AMERICAN HOUSE IN BOSTON MASS as it is stamped on the bottom. This cream, green and brown stein stands just short of 2" tall and is very old. A tiny old chip at the base just below the handle, does not detract from the stein. 3. A tiny pot metal dog that reads IDEAL DOG FOOD on one side and GOOD LUCK on the other. No damage to its fragile tail or ears. Stands only 1" tall. I presume it was a give away to advertise Ideal Dog Food. 4. Two old clay pipe bowls, Civil War era. One pipe is marked SMITH 345 CALEDONIA ???? in a circle. The other pipe bowl is unmarked. 5. Three very unusual fishing weights shaped as triangles with the numbers 2, 3 and 5 embossed on them. Very unusual. 6. A very old padlock with key. The lock is signed but all I can read clearly is an E and the number 5. Very old riveted lock with great character. 7. A very old wind up pocket watch. This watch is marked on the face NEW YORK WATCH COMPANY. (not New York Standard). The raised glass has slight shallow chips on the edges but does not detract from the look of the watch. The glass is not cracked or discolored. The watch face is 99% sweet, a flea bite on the very edge under the glass edge keeps it from 100%. No cracks or crazing to the face. Very white. Inside the first cover it reads " WARRANTED COIN SILVER and stamped below it 6405. The second silver cover reads 2 6405. inside the watch it reads " CHESTER WOOLWORTH SPRINGFIELD MASS. # 26254. The case shows some wear but no major damage. No key. I know little about pocket watches and research did not find much about this company, so please ask questions that are important to you. 8. And the box itself is a wonderful old Justin Seubert La Perfeccion from Syracuse New York. Labels on inside and on sides and burned into lid. 1901 tax stamp in place. Displays very nice but I do not grade. More photos available upon request. A nice opportunity for collectors as well as dealers here, take a close look. I would be glad to provide more photos of individual items if requested. Sorry, box contents cannot be mixed or items separated from collection. FREE SHIPPING!!!!
