From Steve Kane Quilts and Folk Art Vintage Disneyana from the 1950's "CINDERELLA" Applique QUILT S ize: approx. 66 inches WIDE and 90 inches LONG, or approx.166 centimeters WIDE and 227 centimeters LONG. Slightly scalloped edges, an outer and an inner FLORAL SWAG with FLOWERS and RIBBON enclose the central scene of CINDERELLA with her FAIRY GODMOTHER, several MICE, with the CASTLE and CLOCK illustrated in quilting. CINDERELLA has blonde hair, blue eyes, red gloves, a floral wrap, a red dress with spangles attached and as an outline for the edge of the red dress. She also wears a tiara-like hair band, a necklace, and pearl earings. Cinderella's FAIRY GODMOTHER wears a GREEN Cloak, a happy expression and holds her Yellow STAR-TOPPED Magic Wand. Three different applique MICE gaze up at the scene. Another MOUSE illustrated in quilting watches a Clock which approaches the Midnight Hour. At the top of the central scene illustrated in quilting is the PRINCE'S CASTLE with the fantastical Disneyesque TOWERS rising high in the pictorial distance. Around the central cartouche illustrated in quilting are the figures of CINDERELLA and THE PRINCE as they dance.
