Pressed glass oval bread plate depicting 25th president of the United States, William McKinley; �born 1843� to left of image �died 1901� to right of image. Leaf pattern along rim is stippled as is his beaded cameo area surrounding the image in the middle. McKinley�s last words �It is Gods Way His Will Be Done� frames his image top and bottom. Condition is fine, no chips or cracks, however, this plate may have originally been a factory-second - there is a curved line between �Born� and the head of McKinley. The flaw resembles a scratch but part of it is above the surface of the plate as though the base of another plate touched the surface of this one while the glass was still heated. The flaw is hard to see unless you look closely but I thought it should be mentioned. A commemorative issue in honor of the president, circa 1901 of shortly thereafter. Measures 10.5 inches long 8 inches wide.
