It combined frugal economy (even late models still return 50 + mpg), with limpet like roadholding, and very effective suspension. Indeed, the original design brief was for the 2CV to be driven on a ploughed field with basket of eggs, without a single egg being broken! Launched in Paris in 1948, 8 million 2CVs and derivatives were built over 42 years until 1990. They make an excellent choice of classic car today. Features a wide spectrum of 2CVs, from an early 1951 2CV A, an AZAM (a luxury 1960s version, with nudgebars, and Ami seats), several 1970s drum brake 2Cvs, through to a very late 1990 Grey/Grey Charleston, one of the very last. Also features basic Special (a retro design with early instrument panel and round headlights), glamorous Charleston in Yellow/Black, Burgundy/Black.
