Civil War flag, 123rd Regiment Ohio National Colors. Rare opportunity to own a part of United States history! This magnificent beauty is being offered for sale for the first time. The Flag has been handed down generation after generation from the commanding officer of the 123rd, Col. Horace Kellogg. The only other examples of Ohio Regimental flags are in the possession of the state of Ohio and are now in the process of being preserved for museum display. You can see them at the "Save The Flags" website at www.ohio /about/ohf/.html . The flag is owned by family members of the late Col. Horace Kellogg. It has been carefully maintained to preserve its natural beauty and has been miticulously mounted and framed by a certified framer in mahogany wood and u/v treated plexiglass. The flag measures 89" x 51", the overall dimensions are 96" x 59". The 142 year old flag is in excellent condition! T is some discoloration throughout the flag that would definately be consistant with its age. T are about 6 small holes along the border of the flag and a small tear on the upper right hand edge. Along the pole edge of the flag written on the border are four insignias, starting at the bottom left and working upward along the border is "Col. H. Kellogg" next approximately half way up it reads "Col. Horace Kellogg", a little further up "Col. H. Kellogg"
