This is a used reproduction Civil War period .58 cartridge box with sling. The box is the early war pattern with no rivet securing the box tab. It can be carried either on the belt or by the shoulder sling The sling is regulation length and has 2 slots that are 2 inches apart for the breast plate of your choice. The box has 2 slots that are 2 and 5/8 inches apart for the box plate of your choice. This box is in very good condition. The stitching is secure and the leather is in good condition. These accouterments have been polished and treated with SnoSeal regularly. T are also 2 cartridge tins and 2 cardboard cartridge containers with reproduction period labels for the lower tin sections. The dividers in the upper tins have been removed, they made it hard for me to grab cartridges in the field. The inside on the box flap is labeled with my unit, company and company number as Federal regulations required. I can remove this painted lettering if you wish, although if you portray a ANV Confederate carrying captured gear the lettering will add a nice tough to your impression. If you would prefer your own unit lettered in a similar fashion I can do that too. I do not have the time to do both Civil War events and Rev War events so I'm selling all my Civil War gear. The 1860's loss is your gain.
