I believe I have identified this Civil War photo as Capt. Cleveland Winslow, Army of the Potomac, Fifth Corps., 2nd Division, 3rd Brigade. T is a written ID on the reverse and though it's very light and hard to read I think it says: "Capt. Winslow, - - -, 5th Army Corp." Also, if you Google "Faces of Antietam" and scroll to the very end (the photos are in alphabetic order) you will come across another Brady photo of Capt. Winslow and though the pose is different and the subject looks considerably younger, the resemblance is tremendous, but you can judge for yourself. (This is an amazing Website by the way - you can click on each of the photos and read a thumbnail sketch/history of each portrait.) If I am correct then this photo is of a very interesting and important participant of the Civil War. Capt. Winslow assumed command of the famous Duryee's Zouaves from Hiram Zouave (who was sent home with malaria) and then led the men into the disastrous Battle of Second Bull Run (Manassas) w they lost 350 of their 500 or so men. The Duryee's Zouaves were famous for their discipline, skill and fancy uniform featuring baggy red pants, hence the nickname "Red Legged Devils". He was eventually wounded at Bethesda church during the battle of Cold Harbor on June 2, 1864. In a sidenote, his father, a former Chaplain to the Zouave's, was accompanying
