Vintage Civil War Chess / Checkers Set Franklin Mint Rare The Authentic Franklin Mint Civil War Chess Set! Commemorating the heroes of the war that divided a nation! This chess set is in very good condition and is from 1983. It is often considered one of the world's most sought after chess sets. The game pieces are made of the finest grade pewter, meticulously carved, beautifully detailed and set on heavy bases trimmed with bright brass and blue/gray enamels. The rich, dark hardwood box is in very good condition very few dings. It looks good inside and out! The playing board is bright and clean, with the expected graying and light spotting from age and prior use. All pieces are intact w/no chipping and the original felt is secure. the set is ready for play or display! this would It would make the perfect gift for any collector or individual who loves history or has an interest in the Civil War.
