Cleaned, treated & ready for display. Its a beautiful original Civil War piece ...See Pictures ! Confederate 6 Pounder Case Shot, approx 3 1/2 inch diameter. Ball is filled with iron balls, for use in the "Napoleon Cannon" with "Bohrmann" timed fuse intended to fire over the heads of enemy/ yankee troops spreading the deadly balls. The Civil War Soldier's greatest Nightmare. I'm not an expert on civil war ordnance but I purchased this from: " on Nov 8th 2002 (with the intention of keeping it)... but now need to pay some bills . ... He said that he purchased it from "a published author on the subject at the Ohio Civil War show some years back" .Pictures show the ball, fuse, drilled hole, close up of the fuse, the casting "seam" ...please note the nice consistent "patina".
