Civil War Confederate SWORD BAYONET, blade length 22 1/4 inches,overall length 25 inches.bayonet has brass handle,iron hilt.iron blade,all iron is pitted but strong. All items of ordnance are totally inert & fully compliant with eBay guidelines.Grenades,bombs,mines etc. are permanently filled with an inert epoxy resin & altered in other ways to render them unusable as weapons.Shells,bullets & similar rounds are similarly modified & have been fired,have no primer & CANNOT be reloaded.It is the responsibility of the purchaser to decide wether these items are legal in their own States or countries.Shipping of obvious items of inert ordanance will ONLY be by surface mail.Shipping by SURFACE MAIL TO ANY COUNTRY CANNOT BE INSURED OR TRACKED SO SHIPPING IS AT THE PURCHASERS RISK. NOTE: This item was recovered at the Jenkins Ferry battlefield w 10.000 Union Troops and t pursing Confederate foes passed on that bloody day,April 30 1864. Bill Kerr &Ralph Baggett recovered this at Jenkins Ferry Battlefield. I have the January 1973 volume 4 NO.1 issue of treasure mag documenting the find, will send copy to winner which includes a pic of Ralph Baggett recovering a broken sword and a scocket bayonet,he was one of the three men involved in this find. I bought this collection from Ralph Baggett 's son Chris Baggett and can provide signed and notarized documentation to prove such. The mag. pic's shows all three treasure hunters including Ralph Baggett and documents all three in text. Will provide a copy of the magazine article to winning bidder if desired.
