This is a CIVIL WAR ERA cover with what appears to be a preprinted stamp on it. THIS IS NOT A POSTCARD. On the top of the cover it has some racist phrases "Come back here you black rascal" and Cant come back nohow massa; Dis chile's CONTRABAN . The adressee on the envelope was Charles J Wells who was born in 1836 and died in 1871after being fallen on by a horse .
