FRESH to the MARKET! Up for bids today is a small Civil War era, soldiers leather cased pair of Field Glasses or Binoculars made in Dresden, Germany. These old Soldier Binoculars came out of a Military Collection (see the HUGE WWII DUMMY CARTRIDGE from this guys collection listed elsew The black leather case is soft with red satin lining and a strap holder on both sides. The overall condition of the case is excellent. The satin on the inside cap has embossed gold markings all over which are rubbed and hard to note. T are symbols and words. I can make out "Dresden" and the word "GEBRUDER" and "ROETIG" so perhaps your eyes are better than mine to make out more writing. The letters are embossed but like i said the gold is rubbed. The binoculars are covered in brown leather. The lenses on the binoculars read on one lens "KK. Hofoptiker" and the other lens read: "Pragerstrasse". T is more but i can read it. The leather case has a intricate and beautiful brass hinge opening button. Very ornate and perhaps belonged to an officer. 5" x 2 1/2" by 4" tall. The field glasses work (and certainly have been USED) and i was told that they are military and Civil War period. Thanks so much for bidding and please visit my other listings for more unique, interesting and unusual quality items from the past. I am SELLING OUT my personal COLLECTION of ANTIQUE OLD WEST RELICS & ARTIFACTS.
