We have for auction a OLD- CIVIL WAR ERA- MILLVILLE ATMOSPHERIC QUART FRUIT JAR. Glass has a little whittle to it. The outer and inside smooth lip on this beautiful, old jar, is in good condition for its age, the outside lip has 1 flake, as seen in picture, the rubber seal is dried out and broken is several pieces . The front of the jar is embossed with MILLVILLE ATMOSPHERIC FRUIT JAR and the backside with WHITALLS PATENT JUNE 18th 1861, the 18th is hard to read. The base of the jar is embossed with # 3. The lid is the correct one for jar, and embossed also, as seen in picture, I see no flakes on it. The original clamp is in good working condition, screws in and out good. The old jar has no cracks, I see no open bubbles, has some of the normal age, use related scratches. A beautiful ,old civil war era jar, that has came thru the ages of time in good condition, for its age, just about a 150 years old from the patent date, a nice jar for a collection . Will refund anything a $ 1 or over that it does not take for shipping expense. But as always , look at the pictures, that I have provided, as a picture speaks more than a thousand words. I try to keep shipping cost down, but the P.O. has increase their cost, e-Bay get 9% from shipping, also 9 % from the total selling price of jar, so keep this in mind when leaving feedback.
