An original photograph on a card, smaller than a CDV and possibly a tobacco card photo, of MAJOR GENERAL NELSON A. MILES circa 1895. Size 1 5/8" x 2 5/8", blank reverse, very good condition but slight vertical warp....NELSON A. MILES [1839-1925] won fame in the Civil War, wounded four times and winner of the Medal of Honor. He served with distinction in the Indian Wars against the Sioux and Apache, and was Commanding General of the United States Army during the Spanish American War.
