This is a Civil War era portable writting desk. It had 8 letters dating from the early 1860's to 1880's. It also had 5 bills in it. I do not know if they are real or not, but they are 1 1862 Virginia 100 bill, a 1864 Georgia 100 dolar bill, a 1862 Arkansas 1 dolar bill, a 1866 North Carolina 1 dollar bill, and a 1862 Mississippi 100 dollar bill. The dimensions of the desk are 8 inch X 11 1/2 inch X 4 inch. This was found in a large trunk in the attic of a local house that was being demolished a few years back. It will make a great addition to any Civil War collection.
