We are honored to offer for your consideration, this very fine, well-made, high quality, antique swivel pendant, pocket watch fob, from America's turbulent civil War era ( circa 1860). The piece is in remarkable condition for its age, having been greatly treasured, and cared for, by someone... The pendant/fob is designed to swivel on its ornate bale, so that either gem-set side can be presented... the rich, rusty red carnelian side...or the somber mourning black onyx side. both gems are free of chips, cracks and scratches , have gently beveled edges and are flush set in their ornately embossed settings. Note the embossed flowers on the stippled, textured background, in rose gold filled, plated or perhaps solid form. open the pendant to see 2 pictures of a man, in uniform, and his beloved lady, in her sombre Victorian high collar dress. both pictures are protected by glass and the original frames. T is a catch knob and hole for it at the bottom , see photos....the angle of the catch knob needs a slight adjustment to fit snugly into its place, then the pendant/fob will close securely. ( your jeweler can attends to this; i don't dare! ). This fine old treasure measures almost 1 1/2" in length, and is about 7/8" in width, with the swivel sides. It is quite thick, like a hero sandwich, with a depth of 3/8". It weighs 12.1 grams. I am read more
