This is for a small Civil War era copper personal combination coffee boiler / cup. Soldiers were issued raw coffee beans which they pulverized and roasted in a skillet and boiled in small containers. This copper vessel holds two cups and is of a size that would have been carried tied to A soldier's field gear. It appears to be tin lined as is typical of copper containers intended for use with food. I is made with the flat base soldered to the sides of the body, side seamed. The handle is copper riveted to the body. Measurements are 4 3/4 inches high with a 3 3/4 inch base. the side which banged against the object it was strapped to bears some shallow dents which could be worked out if desired. I've included a photo from a Civil War collector's edition that illustrates a similar coffee boiler of larger size. No reserve.
