CLAIRE WINDSOR AUTOGRAPH This Autographed Photograph is of the late (d. 1972, heart attack), great actress, CLAIRE WINDSOR, who, aside from being a talented performer who co-starred with silent film star William Haines (and also dated Charlie Chaplin and Buddy Rogers), was peripherally involved in the controversially famous 1922 murder case of William Desmond Taylor, a case that to this day has never been officially solved. Ms. Windsor had a dinner date with Taylor the night before he was found murdered in his own home and was questioned by the police the following day. She was cleared of any involvement, but Hollywood lore has taken hold on the theory that Desmond was killed by a jealous lover who saw Windsor at his house. We will never know for sure, but one fact remains: Claire Windsor was a true pioneer of cinema and a terrific actress, who graciously signed this rare photo for famous Hollywood columnist Jess Hoaglin, also deceased. The photograph itself is Original and Vintage. Matte with a nice silky texture; 8x10 in size, Sepia Tone, Uninscribed; Signed w/ black Fountain Pen.
