A gorgeous, extremely well painted, Clarice Cliff teacup and saucer in the Autumn Crocus pattern and Globe shape. They will date to 1928-30 and are in excellent condition: no damage of any kind. The hand painting is thickly applied and there are virtually no paint losses - none on the cup, and only a few negligible flecks on the saucer. Please see the photos which form part of my description. The back stamps for both are identical: hand written CROCUS (in green) and Hand Painted Bizarre by Clarice Cliff, Newport Pottery England in the early stamp mark, not the later transfer. I would say the green hand painted name was added by the same paintress, though I cannot be certain of this. The cup measures 3.5" across and is approx. 2.5" high. The saucer is just under 6" across. The postage is Special Delivery so it will be insured. I will post overseas but please contact me for an estimate, before bidding. As usual, I am starting at 99p with no reserve.
