A LOVELY RARE NEWLYN CLARICE CLIFF CRUET SET Here is a stunning and rare Clarice Cliff cruet set in the Newlyn pattern. They are beautifully painted as can be seen from the pictures and are a wonderful addition to anyoneâ� s collection. Condition The pepper pot is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks or restoration and the holes at the top are in perfect condition. There is slight paint loss to the blue banding around the top of the pot. The salt pot is in wonderful condition apart from two small chips to the base. One chip extends to the side as can be seen from the picture and to the left of this is a slight nibble coming from the other chip. Fortunately, both are to the back of the pot and the part showing the flowers is perfect. For accuracy, I point out a slight amount of paint loss to the hole at the top, this does not feel like a nibble as it feels smooth to the touch but like a small amount of paint loss. There is also some slight paint loss to the blue banding around the top as to the pepper pot. No Backstamp Both pieces are unmarked although these are definitely Clarice Cliff. Very often small pieces such as cruet sets were not backstamped. The salt pot has a cork which I believe may be the original one and the pepper pot does not.
