You are Bidding on this Fine HANDPAINTED CLARICE CLIFF DESIGNED Covered Dish. This Piece is in the "SUNRISE" Pattern. This Fine Handpainted work is a bit more than 5" Across. This Covered Dish stands about 2 1/2" to the top of the handle. I believe this Piece was produced between 1929 and 1930. This piece is Marked in script "Handpainted Fantasque by Clarice Cliff Wilkinson Ltd England". Above the Script (see pictures) is marked "Registration Applied For". You can actually see the Brush Strokes in the Vibrant Glazes. This Covered Dish is in Fine Condition with No Repairs. As with Handpainted Pottery, a "brush miss", if the glaze shows is not a flaw. In the main picture on the side of the blue rim the white mark is a glaze fleck with the underglaze intact. The "spots" on the orange band are "in production". In the top right picture the light mark near the bottom edge is a "brush miss". In the 2nd left picture the irregular black glaze band in "in production". In the 2nd right picture a pin head size fleck on the bottom of the lid edge is too small for the camera....Do others mention this stuff? The top edge of the dish is excellent, any irregular orange is "brush Stroke". Bottom left picture, pin head size mark at 3 o'clock on "green glaze" shows white underglaze.
