Mid Century Compact, Elgin American "Clarice Jane" Powder and Rouge Compact, 1950s, Excellent Condition. This Clarice Jane Compact appears to have hardly been used. The top of the compact has a green enamel finish accented by the distinctive Clarice Jane swirl design in gold tone. The back of the compact is a green enamel field out to the edges. Both top and bottom edges are trimmed out in gold tone. There is a small ding (pin head size) on the right side front by the gold swirl. Inside, the mirror is clear and clean. The powder compartment is clean and has the Clarice Jane hallmarked puff. The rouge compartment is empty. All hinges and the clasp are alligned and work properly. This beautiful compact measures 2 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches by 5/16 inch thick. Overall, this Clarice Jane compact is in Excellent Condition. This gorgeous compact would make a stunning addition to someone's Mid Century collection of high end compacts; or it would make a handsome gift.
