A box that was sold with a bunch of spools of thread. It looks 1890's, could be earlier or later. It says in part --ESTABLISHED 1812 - GEORGE A.CLARK - CLARK'S O.N.T. FOR HAND AND MACHINE SEWING - SIX CORD" T's picture of the factory and the back has advertising and says awards from 1855 to 1878 at exhibitions. 6-1/4 by 2-3/4 by 1 inch thick. Top is pretty good, just a little worn and soiled and 2 numbers written on in ink. Inside is a thin paper that is torn advertising the thread. Back has a little paper missing and a name written in ink. This box is from before Clark's became Coats and Clark. Keep watching my auctions as I go through the old storage boxes.
