Here's an old advertising spool thread box from Clark's. There is a wonderfully charming picture of a little girl hanging up clothes while another girl with a doll watches. there's a clothes basket as well as a washtub and washboard in the picture. The image is in the shape of a spool of thread. On the bottom, it says, "Across the line from pole to pole, the children's clothes depend on it." The box is certainly colorful and graphic. There is some edge wear due to age and one end of the lid is missing. Someone glued the lid to the bottom. What a nice piece of sewing advertising this is. It would also appeal to collectors of laundry related items!
