This wonderful chair is ready to serve a Barber for many more years, or be placed in someones home as a show piece with purpose. In either case, it is a known fact that whoever sits in it suddenly becomes an authority on everything and deserves a great deal of respect. This chair served me for many years of it's 46 years and we both acquired signs of aging. The chair, I could help. It started with a new upholstery job using Naugahyde and new padding. Mechanically, the chair was still like new and still is. However, when I retired as a Master Barber, I couldn't part with the chair. After 5 years I decided to let someone else enjoy it, for a price of course. It's appearance presented a problem though, even though I had become used to it. The metal parts were not looking their best. Looks better now than it ever did. To prepare the chair for a new owner I took it completely apart, cleaned it, scraped, ground, wire brushed, sanded, primed and enameled. I don't think I would do it again on another chair but it was worth it to see her shine. It does what you tell it to do with the handle. It locks in place, it turns, leans back and locks into the slant of choice. It goes up and comes down. It is also very heavy. The headrest is in good shape and there is a child seat, both are displayed in the photos. Under the right arm rest is a snap to attach a razor strap if you wish. The headrest has adjustable height settings. The chair uses hydraulic fluid so the barber can raise the height of the chair and lower it. There is an ash tray in the right arm rest but I fixed it so it would not open. No, it still isn't perfect. What is ? The foot rests are aluminum and have no coatings. Whoever buys this chair will have to come get it. The chair weighs about 375 pounds. Loading can be difficult depending on what you choose to haul it with. I can help some but we can discuss this before your departure or when deciding what you want to do.
