This auction is for Frankie, our beloved 1971 Tax Exempt VW Beetle 1300 Restored in 2007 by a professional bodyworks company, Frankie has a completely solid chassis, floor and body. I’ve spent hours washing and waxing her and there is no rust on her perfect House of Kolor mauve / purple flip pearlescent paint job. In the sun, the colour looks amazing bouncing off her curves. Everybody turns and smiles as they see her. The paintwork is outstanding, it continues to the underside of every panel with the same perfection as the outside. The interior is the same colour as the exterior, with the dash and door cards all being sprayed in the same paint. The seats are grey, so it’s not purple overload! Frankie has been modernized slightly with a front disc brake conversion and hydraulic system which was done at the time of restoration. She has comfortable Recaro recliners in the front and the rear seat has been covered to match. The alloy wheels are much sought after by other Beetle owners and we’ve turned down 2 good offers for these. We have owned Frankie since March, buying from a former employee of the company that restored her. She’s given us 6000 trouble free miles.
