CLASSIC ART NOUVEAU ENAMELED 18K GOLD RING c1900 Presented is a fabulous Art Nouveau 18K gold enameled ring. The top of the ring has a beautiful design with a pretty young woman at the center, a small accent diamond at the top, and a pink flower with green leaves at the bottom. The enameling is very nicely done with a translucent very light yellow enamel on the woman's face and neck with a little bit of a rose tone on the cheeks. T is translucent green, yellow, and pink enamel on the flower and leaves. Originally the top of the ring was probably a pin, a pendant, or possibly a ring in a different setting. This Art Nouveau enameled scene has been very skillfully mounted with six prongs on a four ribbed band. The mounting was really well done. The prongs are not obtrusive at all. The mounting was done in such a way that it actually could be removed without causing any damage. The enameled top piece was fitted to this shank and mounting by using only prongs and no solder. The entire ring is well constructed and beautifully made. The piece was probably made in France, or possibly America. This classic Art Nouveau ring was made between 1895 and 1910. The ring is not marked, but we have tested it with nitric acid. We guarantee the top of the ring to be 18K gold. Since France only used 18K gold, this may indicate that the top of the read more
