From a Tucson estate some years ago is this highly compelling I believe circa 1940's or so American Southwest turquoise cluster bracelet with nice silver drop embellishment amidst fifty-seven (57 ) attractive greenish blue turquoise sets, the construction features fully indicative of a tribal artisan making during that time. The emphasis on those well chosen turquoise sets provides oodles of visual drama; examples of this general configuration are still crafted today, but seldom do they achieve the level of this vintage beauty. The offered bracelet comprises a great balance of period tourist-driven style while clearly remaining well within a desired tribal-use aesthetic, exhibiting great visual charisma and that distinctly vintage look; it may have been sold to a visitor from the provenance, but would have been right at home on a tribal wrist and is certainly a far cry from any potboiler pastiche version meant for some unknowing day visitor to Gallup. Use of four substantial silver rods for the band and that superb assemblage of turquoise makes a bold statement; the silver reinforced ends to the band are wholly in keeping with the period and the old style elongated C-shaping is readily apparent.
