This elegant, solid golden brown mahogany cabinet (the backing is not solid mahogany) is highlighted with simple, bold solid brass fittings. It is a great example of a custom made cabinet that is highly versatile in function bridging traditional Japanese and modern design, featuring ample storage space. The 1960s Japanese built cabinet has a solid brass front door pull that translates in Japanese to "Happiness." (Reference: Namiko Abe, Your Guide to the Japanese language) The piece compliments modern, Asian, eclectic groupings, or can act as a stand alone piece in an entryway. (Small imperfections in the wood must be expected in a piece of this age.) _____________________________________________________________________ *Overall Size: 4'2" long, 1'9" deep front to back, 3'2 & ½" tall. *Functions/applications: Originally built as an entertainment center to house the central piece of a stereo system. The many large compartments are adaptable to multiple uses. Examples: focal/accent piece for a living room that functions as an entertainment center, and can hold cds, DVDs, DVD equipment, cd players, a tv, books, etc; dining room sideboard/buffet; entrance piece in a foyer; or an ample featured bedroom storage piece. Estimated dimensions for interior placement of equipment are provided below. However, we cannot be responsible for exact fit of existing equipment/tvs. *Interior Features/Dimensions: The multiple ample compartments are composed of three basic levels: *Top level: T are two substantial storage centers on the top with separate louvered tight-fitting doors that create the smooth top of the cabinet.. Both sides as equal in side and approximately two feet wide about 1 & ¾ ft. from front to back. The left side is empty & right side currently holds the original Garrard brand LP turntable that could be retained as part of a vintage restoration use/modern combined use or could be removed & resold. *Middle level: Opening the two louvered doors in the middle shows a section with two storage areas on each side with dividers that could support a variety of items and a middle area that used to hold a receiver, but could be adapted for a television, electronics or internal wood sections simply removed for storage. *Lowest level. Two deep drawers divided into three sections and have solid brass elegant pulls.
