Very clean example of this formidable American 11-band Short Wave radio. Collectors will be familiar with this - to find out more: visit this Radio Museum page. The item comes in very clean condition and sports its original mains lead, which fits snugly at the radio end but has had the US 2-pin mains connector cut off and replaced with a UK 3 pin so it's ready to use. It's working very well on all bands, although (perhaps understandably) I can receive nothing on VHF Air. The 13 metre band appears willing, but I have so far not been able to receive stations on these frequencies. Nothing available, perhaps. Fairly unusually, the rotary wavechange drum works smoothly, quietly and accurately. Sound quality is impressive. The volume pot is a tad noisy, but perfectly acceptable when in regular use. The battery/signal level meter appears to work fine, and the radio has excellent sensitivity - even fairly distant medium wave stations require the manual RF gain to be turned down. The receiver works fine on either batteries (not supplied) or mains. The battery indicator works. The dial and pull-out bulbs need replacing. The massively-long aerial is intact. Condition-wise, it's very clean. There's the usual metal/ chrome crazing, but it's gentle, all-over wear that doesn't seem to detract. The battery compartment is virtually rust-free, read more
