This is a wonderful serpentine frog that Zuni Esteban Najera carved. This frog is large and Esteban carved him sitting on the top of a mushroom. This stone is perfect for a frog and a mushroom, they look as though just plucked from a mossy bog. Esteban carved the legs of the frog separate from each other, difficult to accomplish without breaking the piece. This is an unusual fetish because Esteban rarely carves from stone, his normal carving material is antler. The fetish is 1 3/4" long, 2" wide and 2 7/8" tall. Esteban has signed the bottom of the fetish with his initials. A frog is an animal of cleansing and emotional healing and peace.
